I dont know about you, but I would love to have all of my favorite facial items (cleanser, moisturizer, toner, facial scrub) with me on each trip. However, in my quest to pack lightly and TSAs rules about limits on liquids, it is just not feasible to bring it all.But fortunately, these alternatives are all easy to create in a hotel room and I feel like I am putting healthier things on my face:
Facial scrub:Pick up a packet or two of white sugar. Rub this into your facial cleanser and voila! a facial scrub is created.
Body scrub:Add white sugar orraw (brown) sugar to the lotion provided by the hotel. Rub this on your body just before showering to create a nice body scrub that helps remove flaky skin.
Skin toner:Ask your hotels restaurant for lemon slices and use them as a skin toner
Ease tired eyes: Soak tea bags in hot water for a minute and then plunge them into ice water for a few seconds. Lie down and apply them directly to your eyes for 15 minutes.Alternatively, head to the hotel restaurant and ask for cucumber slices. Rest these on your closed eyes for several minutes. Enjoy the relaxation and freshen up your tired eyes.
Skin soother: Soak a clean washcloth in cold milk and place it over your face for 10 minutes. The milk will help reduce redness and calm irritated skin. The lactic acid in the milk exfoliates, so your skin will look soft and glowing.
Enjoy these solutions that are travel-friendly and good for your face and body and enjoy your journeys!
